We’d like to say a massive congratulations to our management accountant, Simon Mayes who recently completed the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon. And, in doing so, Simon raised over £2,000 for charity!
Running in aid of Reunite International Child Abduction Centre a Leicester based charity, Simon’s fundraising total currently stands at £2,200 – an impressive amount to reward months of training and a hugely successful run.
A time of 3:21:03 saw Simon finish in 4,713 position out of 39,349 finishers. An accomplishment that is all the more impressive considering he was put in the same starting pen as the 3:45 pacers!
“The London Marathon is an amazing experience and I’m very pleased with how the day went overall. The fundraising total went a bit nuts over the last few days, so thank you all,” says Simon.
Another type of London congestion
It was a hard fought race and Simon found out first-hand just how congested London’s streets can get, something we know all too well at 3T.
“The marathon crowds look great on TV when you see them all running in a massive pack, but to be quite honest when you’re stuck in the middle of it for the first 13 miles it is actually immensely frustrating!” adds Simon.
From everyone at 3T, we’d like to say a big well done to Simon! Same again next year?
