Food industry logistics

Food industry logistics will play a major part in shaping the agenda for Foodex 2018, the upcoming trade show for the food and drink processing, packaging and logistics industries.

The event is set to take place on April 16th-18th at the NEC in Birmingham, with over 500 suppliers due to attend alongside adjacent events such as The Ingredients Show, Food & Drink Expo, Farm Shop & Deli Show, and the National Convenience Show.

Visitors to The Ingredients Show in particular can expect to see food industry logistics high on the agenda, from production processes to supply chain issues, and how digital advances are maximising efficiency and revolutionising food industry supply chains.

Research carried out ahead of the event found that 73% of consumers are willing to pay more for food if they trust the ingredients, while identifying concerns surrounding healthy recipes, natural additives and ‘clean’ food labels.

The main Foodex show will also feature a Sustainability Zone – giving food industry businesses more ways to reduce their environmental impact.
