We’re pleased to announce that, after some hard work, we have been awarded the International Organisation for Standardisation’s (ISO) 27001:2013 accreditation.

The award shows our commitment to data protection for our clients and supports our goal of becoming the most technically advanced logistics organisation in Europe.

What is ISO 27001:2013?

According to ISO, the 27001:2013 accreditation “specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system”.

The ISO accreditation is the world’s highest for Information Security and Service Management and recognises our commitment and achievement in protecting our clients’ data.

The nature of our service makes data protection very important. We are currently in the process of moving our Software as a Service (SaaS) transport management solutions to the cloud. This accreditation reassures and demonstrates to clients that their information will be kept securely.

“This is a great validation of the work that we do here at 3T Logistics, providing cutting edge SaaS transport systems,” explains Steve Gibson, 3T’s IT infrastructure & support manager, and overseer of the project. “It was a highly informative and interesting process measuring our systems against an international standard and serves as verification for our customers that their data is safe with us.”

How did we achieve it?

To receive the accreditation, companies must complete a two-stage process. Our procedures and controls were reviewed before the implementation of necessary changes were assessed.

Data security has always been of high importance for us at 3T. For this reason, we had a thorough, secure control system already in place before the project began. Because of this, it took us just six months for us to meet the wide range of criteria to attain the accreditation.

Tim Fawkes, 3T’s Managing Director added: “Information security is crucial in our industry and so it has always been a major priority for us. As we’ve seen recently, there is a threat to major businesses information security and this area is only going to get more challenging. This accreditation validates the strict working practices we adhere to, to keep our clients’ information secure.”
